To Our Final Hello.. So guys this is our final blog in class and I must say I'm a little upset. I never used to blog before this class 'Exploring Your Digital Portfolio", but I must say writing your thoughts is in some way therapeutic. This class was filled with a lot of information towards the digital world that could help us in our real life world. Honestly, prior to joining this class it was just a requirement I needed for my schedule. However, after almost completing this class I'm glad I was enlightened with so many cool websites that I never knew existed, an easier an effective way to go about our digital world and, the readings between the books we read to the articles on live binder. I also enjoyed the main focus of social media and how important it is in todays age with college and our careers.  Starting off with our PLN, I didn't really understand the point of making another twitter since I had a personal one. Although, I found that you can n

Building Your Website

Hey guys welcome back! Long time no see! The last two weeks have been pretty eventful, the first week we did our last APP smack down of the year. The whole semester I've been finding apps pertaining to the field of business not really knowing what I want to do just yet. This week I choose an app called College Majors , this was pretty much a break down of every kind of major you can think of. When clicking on the set major, the app would also have a list of jobs that are found in that major. After our app smack down, we had class visitors from Microsoft   that discussed about their version of virtual reality head sets and let us try them on. One of the headsets was called the  Hololenz , which was a see-through holographic lens. This head set was pretty unique since you can see through the lenz and also see real life since it was transparent. Last week our class was dedicated to talking about our final project. Our assignment is to make a website of our own, relating back

Hey guys! Welcome back.. These last two weeks have been pretty eventful in class to say the least. Starting off the week with APP smack down, I used one of my all time favorite apps, Apple News . This app is similar to Paper.li  and Business Insider  with finding informative articles on whatever you want, where you can then share and save the ones that interest you the most. With app smack down you need to choose something which pertains to your major, while I'm not to sure what I want to do in my career just yet, Apple News gives me a chance to feel out business careers while reading many blogs on all the different careers. Along with week number one, our class learned about some virtual reality websites. Whats pretty fascinating about virtual reality is you feel as though the 3D image is actually in the room with you. Virtual reality websites we were shown were ZooKazam  and Google Cardboard . For ZooKazam, all we needed was a target on a clear flat service. When downloadi

Present In Your Presentations

Hello guys!!! Welcome back everyone, this week in class we really narrowed down about the importance of presenting. With our presentations being due soon, Professor helped us take a close look on some websites that can help us reach our goal. The first site we looked into was Haiku Deck , this was an excellent tool however you only have a trail until you need to pay for it. Moving onto another presentation site, Google Slides . I'm pretty familiar with Google Slides since I enjoy using google doc and it's linked in through that. Not only have I used it, but it is user friendly with being pretty easy to follow. Continuing, we learned about Sway Office 365 , this presentation tool is connected to Microsoft and it seemed like an easy to use presentation tool. Finally, my favorite presentation tool, Prezi , not only is it super easy to navigate through, but the themes and aesthetic I believe are like not no other presentation tools. I really enjoy Prezi because

Welcome back guys! This week of class we learned some cool things as always. Starting off with the fun stuff, watching the video, how APA works  I feel confident in completing my paper later in the semester. Learning stuff like, the cover page, what goes in the abstract, what information should be in the body paragraphs, how to complete references and of course how to format your essay in APA style was crucial information for my paper. APA is double spaded with Times New Roman 12 sized font. Some other important giveaways was the running head, which is found at the top of the paper which includes the page number to the top right of the page and and the title of your paper on the left. It was a pretty lengthy video but when it comes time to write my paper it will have all the answers I need to know on how APA works. Another thing in class we learned was a website called Have I Been Pwned , this database checks if you have an account thats been compromised in a

Being Social On Social Media

WELCOME BACK GUYS!!! This weeks class was pretty eventful, we had our app smack down and a guest visitor. Starting with app smack down, I choose an app dedicated to my major business. It was called Business Insider .  With this app getting 80 million visitors a month worldwide, I felt it was credible. This app seemed comparable to Paper.Li when it came to news articles and relevant topics. Since you’re able to favorite, and reposts articles on both these sites they seemed similar. Also something I liked, you were able to see the latest posts, and the most popular ones. Along with picking the type of category you are interested in, I felt Business Insider pertained to my major and was pretty interesting. Moving onto our guest speaker, Patricia Donahue. She worked in the career office at Stockton University and had a lot to say about what to expect when looking for jobs and interviews. Also how social media has a big roll on today's society. Her telling us, that social media

Organizing Your Content

Hiii Class!!! :o) This week we learned about the Microsoft program, OneNote. This program helps you gather information such as notes, audio clips, videos and, serves as an organizational tool. With also having the ability to share between other OneNote users. Another website we learned was, Flipboard which is a website that helps you personalize topics that you’re interested in. Other websites such as Paper.Li which helps you find online news papers to, Diigo which helps bookmark and tag web pages. Some articles I read into this week focused a lot on the many tips and features that OneNote has to offer. When it comes to printing I learned that instead of printing “pages” you have the option to choose a “current section” or a “notebook.” Also another helpful tool I learned was the “back and forward buttons” when going to and from pages. Other features such as zooming into the page, color coding/creating nicknames to your notebook and, searching for text. There's still s
